Agricultural areas in the face of public environmental policies: spatio-temporal analyses using sensitive data

Résumé

The analysis of the effects of public environmental policies on agricultural areas at the fine scale of the plot or farm involves so-called “sensitive” data. This chapter proposes two approaches: the first one, based on spatial aggregation by gridding, makes the location of farms uncertain, and the second one, based on thematic aggregation by classification, makes the characterization of agricultural plots uncertain. The anonymization of geographic information can affect either its attribute component or its spatial component. Spatial aggregation by gridding is the most commonly used method for anonymizing information in a spatial context. The Agro-environmental and Climate Measures (AECM) data gives information on the elements committed to agri-environmental and climatic measures. The chapter presents the treatments carried out on the scale of agricultural plots in the Basses-Vallees Angevines to build a multi-date database and then a typology of land changes between 2009 and 2016 according to the adoption of AECM.
